Franz Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody no. 11 played by Anastasia Huppmann in Vienna

Franz Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsodies are fantastic musical pieces based on Hungarian folk music, catchy and rich with dynamic contrasts.
Rhapsodies were created in the following order:
№ 2 – 1847, № 1 - about 1851, №№ 3-15 - about 1853, № 16 - 1882, №№ 17-19 - 1885.
When you listen to one of Hungarian Rhapsodies, you immerse yourself in the brilliance of Liszt masterpieces created as a paraphrase of Hungarian folk songs and dances.
The form of Liszt's Rhapsodies is based on the contrast between two sections:
- slow - "Lassan". In this section, music is like an improvisation or a recitative, proud and very romantic. The slow section of the 11th Hungarian Rhapsody brings you to a forest where the wind moves the leaves, birds sing their beautiful songs and Hungarian cembalists play their music in harmony with nature.
- fast - "Friska" or "Czardas". Here, Liszt paints pictures of a folk festival with its lively dances and fun with no restraints. This section requires considerable masterfullness and is usually presented in the form of variations.
