Louise Farrenc (1804-1875) was a French composer, virtuoso pianist and teacher.

2020 is finally behind us. Why not start 2021 with a hopeful, sweet little gem of a Melody? I have already recorded this one back in 2017, but I felt that I could still improve on the musicality and bring out more emotion within the page. I find it especially enchanting when the theme re-appears underneath the high treble notes floating peacefully above it. Alas, due to my limited hand span, I have to play this middle section with considerable hand-crossing with huge leaps, adding to the difficulty of maintaining the melody line.
