Opus 1 is a collection of my earliest musical compositions, written at 10-11 years of age. These creative scribblings reveal a young independent mind bursting with idiosyncratic musical ideas. It was a mind that received too little exposure to any genres of music to be influenced by their stylistic conventions. Consequently, what these compositions mostly have in common is the shameless eccentricity in style, rhythm and harmonisations.

Recording these pieces for the very first time has been a tremendously enjoyable experience. It is both deeply nostalgic and immensely satisfying to re-examine how I approached musical composition during my early childhood.
