I play the Project X Zone - English Opening Theme!

Let's identify and examine the compositional techniques in the Project X Zone - English Opening Theme to enhance the visuals! Please refer to the following video: http://youtu.be/V3RY5YQeHt0#t=18s

The music has many harmonic and rhythmical changes that reflect the action-packed opening video with many cut scenes. The dramatic and serious affect is similar to Street Fighter II - Guile's Theme. Also, both themes have a long melodic line and use a suspension at the peak of the phrase:

The similarities between the two themese make sense as there are Street Fighter characters in the video.

The Project X Zone - English Opening Theme contains much more dissonance, however. This dissonance describes the fighting scenes. Fights are physical representations of cognitive dissonances between two or more people. For example, starting at 1:25, there is a chromatic descending bass line from B-flat to E. This is dissonant in two ways: 1. The upper lines are forced to harmonically conform to the bass line, and the harmonic progression creates tonal ambiguity; 2. The span of the bass line is a tritone.

I'll attempt to assign Romal numerals to the half cadence progression: B-flat Major VI, a minor V^7, B-flat Dom. 7 V^4/2 of bII, g minor iii/bII, D Major V^6 of iii/bII, d minor i^6, E Major V/V, and A Major V. There are three chords in a row on the bII level which blurs the D tonal center.
