Facial Attractiveness
Due to the pandemic, much of the real-world landscape has transformed to being online. As a result, I feel that a new trend is occurring, where looks i.e. facial attractiveness are playing an even more important role. For example, there are many more Zoom meetings, dating app usage has spiked since the start of the pandemic (https://www.businessinsider.com/tinder-hinge-match-group-dating-apps-more-users-coronavirus-2020-8), etc. Anecdotally, on Instagram the 9s and 10s seem to mainly talk to each other and form their own community/society of top 5% attractive people.
As much as looks have played a role in the past, they play an even greater role these days. Also, anecdotally and with some research, the more attractive people are perceived, the more intelligent and trustworthy they are perceived as well. Often, a person who is extremely attractive may be seen as being highly intelligent and trustworthy (my few tests on Photofeeler, a site where people rate other peoples' photos in terms of intelligence, trustworthiness, and attractiveness, corroborate this). For example, an average-looking person with a doctorate and has done many acts to be determined trustworthy, may be perceived as less intelligent and less trustworthy than a person who is extremely attractive. In the webcomic "Lookism," two characters are acting in an audition for a role at a marketing agency. One character is not attractive and was bullied in school. Another character is in the top 5% of attractiveness and hardly ever was bullied. The characters have to act out being bullied. Even though the unattractive character acted being bullied and used his personal experience as inspiration for his acting, the attractive character won the role, because the attractive character's acting was perceived as more convincing, dramatic, and subtle.
The advantage of being in the top 5% of attractiveness is the ability to meet more people. Also, there may be other benefits, including earning a higher income, being treated better, having a greater following on social media, being more persuasive, believable, intelligent, trustworthy, etc.
There has been a recent movement online where Dr. John Mew and Dr. Mike Mew have shown that facial attractiveness can be improved by nuture. (https://youtu.be/NvoX_wEtwDk?t=259) For example, by keeping the lips closed, teeth loosely held together, and the tongue on the roof of the mouth, one can develop habits that not make the face grow vertically (the unattractive direction). These habits have become known as mewing. Dr. John Mew and Dr. Mike Mew have done the research on this, and have achieved dramatic results in people, especially in children. According to Dr. Mike Mew, super models have great facial attractiveness due to habits as mentioned above, and not by genetics. Health and beauty are related. Facial beauty can be measured objectively. Also, about 95% of people suffer from some form of cranio-facial dystrophy, according to one of Dr. Mike Mew lecture's.

Last Monday I had an online consultation with Dr. Mike Mew, and he analyzed my face and coached me a little bit. At first he recommended I get a chin job! However, I don't want to do any plastic surgery, or pay for relatively expensive procedures, when I make improvements myself. Rather than giving me specific pieces of advice, he set the tone on how I could improve, which in hindsight, is much more important in the long-run. I am working on improving my posture, for example. All the resources are available on his YouTube channel. In about 9 month's time I will have another online consultation with Dr. Mew, and hopefully will have progress then.
Here's my consultation with Dr. Mike Mew of the London School of Orthotropics on 12 October 2020. The consultation was recorded with permission. Unfortunately, my recording program did not pick up Dr. Mew speaking.
Dr. Mew speaks and articulates very clearly that one can somewhat read his lips about what he is saying. Rather than giving me lots of specific advice, he set the tone on how I could improve. I feel that setting the tone was extremely beneficial and good for long-term improvement.
Due to my limited amount of free time, I am unable to engage in discussion about this. However, I thought I might share this so that more people know about mewing, and that people are interested in my mewing journey.
