Découvrez la vidéo Scarlatti - Sonata in A major, K322 de MX Chan sur Le Fil YouTube de Piano Partage.
Scarlatti seems to have a talent of expressing so much with the most simple melodies. What an enchanting Sonata. There are an infinite amount of creative ways to interpret a Scarlatti Sonata, especially with all those repeat sections.
This interpretation is mostly inspired by pianist Claire Huangci's recording. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0soIkotkVE). I absolutely loved how she gave both the treble and the bass some additional melodies in the repeat sections. I was further inspired by Scott Tennant's guitar recording (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-1O6A8P5mM) with copious amounts of rubato. It really makes the music breathe and come alive.
