Oftentimes, I find myself practicing my repertoire of challenging piano arrangements on a Saturday morning, when my wife says, "Why don't you play from your heart?". Then, I'll usually start improvising over a favorite chord progression, and my wife tells me this is her favorite way that I play, and it melts her heart.

Sometimes, it's good to stop reading sheet music, stop "practicing", and just play whatever comes out, in the moment. Often, this is my own favorite way of playing the piano, because there are no "mistakes" and no "right notes" - just my raw, vulnerable, and honest musical expression in the moment.

In this improvisation, I channeled one of these Saturday morning moments. I hope that you enjoy this improv, and if you're a pianist, I hope that you will also take moments to just play "from your heart".
