If you haven't heard about Katawa shoujo yet: It's a fanmade Visual Novel and has been in developmnent for over 5 years already, but it was finally released on the 4th January 2012.
The game is free of course, since it's entirely fan made. Download the game here:

I just finished all routes. And.... it was probably the most heartwarming, saddening, and memorable experience I've ever had ;_;
