Before I start with the Kill la Kill OST piano covers I've planned for 2014, I want use this opportunity to dedicate my first video for 2014 to someone very special:
Let me proudly present you my first Viola and Piano collaboration - with Joanna! aka xClassicalcatx!
I am very sure you've seen her videos before, because she frequently collab with other youtube musicians. Her channel is full of lovely Viola covers from Anime, Video games or Disney movies. She also collaborated with Ishter twice!
She is incredibly talented, and her Viola has a really beautiful sound.

Now, a few words about this video.

This Collaboration means a lot to me. It makes me very nostalgic because "Brave Song" was one of my earliest piano covers I've uploaded on youtube.
Almost three and half a year ago, I ragequit transcribing the OP song of Angel Beats, "My Soul, your Beats!" because I lacked inspiration and made the ED song "Brave song" instead. (I uploaded a cover of "My Soul, your Beats!" nonetheless, almost two years later...)
Still, I always loved "Brave Song" because it has such a beautiful melody and at the same time, it's incredibly sad. Two years ago, after I acquired better microphones, I always wanted to upload a "remake" of my "Brave song" transcription.
But at the same time, I also wanted to "upgrade" it into a full version. Back then, I didn't have the confidence to write a "full version" sheet, because I always thought "I can't make it better than my TV-size sheet", I have a strange method of thinking actually (I know, I am bit of a weirdo)
I always have the urge to "surpass" my last video with every new video, be it introducing new pianistic techniques or quoting some classical pieces, or adding some original material, etc.
And for a very long time, I always asked myself, whether I'll ever surpass my old "brave song" transcription.

I needed help, and I found help by asking Joanna, whether she would like to collab with me on Brave Song. It was like a dream came true: I can finally upload a "remake" of my transcription, PLUS, I can finally collab with her for the first time!
After seeing Joanna's collab with TehIshter, I always thought "damn, I want to collab with her too! Her Viola Voice is just perfect for the piano!" - but I never had any idea, which piece I should transcribe for piano AND Viola. It was something entirely new for me, therefore, I never asked her to collab.... ;_;
But now, three and a half years later, I finally found the solution: "brave Song", full version, for piano and viola. And I can proudly say: Yes, I did it. I finally surpassed my former self.

Therefore, thank you so much, Joanna, for making it possible! After all these years, I still have a real emotional attachment towards this piece. Therefore, I poured in all my soul and heart into this transcription, to make our very first collab a succesfull one.

Last but not least, thank you very much, Tehishter, for editing the video for me! You're a true bro and I hope we can always stay friends like this ;_;
