ABOUT THIS PIECE: One of the most popular classical pieces in the world, "Pachelbel's Canon" evokes flowers and weddings, love and romance. As a an interesting footnote, Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706) was 32 older than J.S. Bach (1685-1750) and was a highly prolific composer that the young J.S. Bach revered and looked up to. Pachelbel was good friends with J.S. Bach's father, Johann Ambrosius Bach (also a professional musician), and was godfather to one of Bach's sisters. Pachelbel also taught Bach's older brother keyboard and composition and perhaps some of Bach's other siblings as well, thus the older master was in the "Bach family circle" of professional musicians.
