This is the piano solo version of “The Bravest Journey” which Emily Bear originally composed and orchestrated at age 13 for: Stars & Stripes: A Salute to Our Veterans, an event honoring veterans and the men and women currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. The world premiere was performed on October 10th, 2015 by the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Steve Larsen in front of an audience of 5,000 people. The composition was inspired by the first-hand accounts of Rockford-area veterans and their family members. "The Bravest Journey" describes the journey that the soldier takes: enlisting or being recruited into the army, leaving family and loved ones, experiences during war, challenges returning home after what they had seen and experienced and those who did not make it home. Video filmed at The Coronado Theatre, Rockford, Illinois 2016.
