Inspiration is of abundance right now, and I can't get my hands off the piano lately. Just today my order of 5 music books came in (Beethoven Sonatas Book 2, Liszt's Transcendental Etudes, Czerny's School of Velocity, Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier Books 1 and 2, and Piano Masterworks from Ravel). After playing through the entire Czerny, which took a couple hours of nonstop finger work, I took a break, ate some food, came downstairs, and started playing this. It was always a dream of mine to imitate my most admired composer, Mr. Chopin. That was my intentions here. If I were to have a second shot on the ending of this piece, however, I would have ended it pianissimo, with a small coda section. This ending was a tad out of character! Ouch. Hopefully you will enjoy it anyway 🙂
Your Pianist,
Kyle Landry
