An original song by Emily Bear (age 14) composed as part of the #secondsaturdaysong series and dedicated to Charlene, a young pianist with Cerebral Palsy. About a year ago, I received a special email from a father from Zurich, Switzerland writing about his daughter who has Cerebral Palsy who saw my music videos on youtube and decided she wanted to learn to play the piano so she could play music that I composed - and how they found a teacher who would work with her and how she learned "Northern Lights" and played it in a piano recital and that for her 18th Birthday they surprised her with a trip to IOWA (!!) to see me perform! Cannot even begin to tell you how special it was to meet Charlene and her family after the concert and how inspired I am by them! This past summer, Charlene & her family came to Stuttgart when I played at JazzOpen and we got to see each other again & now Charlene is working on "Ellen's Song" for an upcoming concert. This is for you Charlene! Thank you for inspiring me!!!
