Original piano / instrumental arrangement of "Hikari" and "Dearly Beloved" from the Kingdom Hearts series.

Dearly Beloved:

I'm a huge fan of the Kingdom Hearts soundtracks, and Dearly Beloved is of course one of my favorites. What amazes me is how Yoko Shimomura manage to create tracks this unique, and not to forget mention. Something that suite the game so perfect. I added strings in the beginning from Spitfire Albion, which I later build up to a orchestral in the middle. When I added choirs (East West Symphonic Choirs) and more strings. I did build up the track to a more "epic / intense" part, but I didn't wan't to change the feeling of the arrangement to much from the original track. While I made it my own, I still wanted to capture the more.. well... Kingdom Hearts feeling. In the beginning I used a VST called "The Giant" from Native Instruments, which suite this track perfect in my opinion. I later added a sound from my synth Korg Kronos.

Hikari:
After I arranged Dearly Beloved, I decided to put some more time into this video and arrange another track from kingdom Hearts, and then the orchestral version of "Hikari" was a obvious choice for me, and you'll have Kyle Landry to thank for that.
The first version you'll hear is a more intense piano part, I build it up to the main "Dearly Beloved" orchestral part, after the main Dearly Beloved part I played a calmer version of Hikari, which I also used "The Giant" from native instruments for. What I can say about the soundtrack outside of my arrangement, is that it couldn't be better done for the game. A beautiful and emotional track, the composers and orchestra did an amazing job to create.
