Me playing a couple of pieces from the soundtrack to the fabulous movie 'Inception'. The score by Hans Zimmer is one of his best in my opinion, and arguably the best movie soundtrack/score in 2010. There are many wonderful tracks on the album that add great atmosphere to the film. Zimmer believe it or not didn't watch the film before scoring his more electronic soundtrack to the movie. He just went by the script alone! Apparently this happens between Nolan and Zimmer, they did it with The Dark Knight and others.

The two pieces I perform back to back here in a one-off (and only) recording I made are 'Dream Is Collapsing' and 'Time'. Dream Is Collapsing is possibly the most memorable music from the movie and represents one the most striking scenes in the film near the start. Time is played at the end of the film and is a very simple but effective haunting piece of music and very fitting for that stage in the movie. Both pieces of music I learned by ear and adapted best I could for piano, its not 100% accurate I dont feel and there are a few mistakes, please excuse, but enjoy 🙂

I must add, Hans Zimmer is fast becoming one of my favourite all-time writers of music along with the likes of Bach and Beethoven. He is a living genius and he is able to fuse together modern sounds/samples with live traditional orchestras. Without a shadow of a doubt - one of the greatest movie score composers (or composers in general).
