Video Game Pianist has returned! In this live stream, VGP will play video game music on the piano, take requests via SuperChat, and play Guess the Theme, not necessarily in that order! Fun times!
VGP will transcribe video game music live to fulfill a Super Chat request for a piece that VGP does not know. Viewers will be able to see VGP transcribe the music in real-time via VGP's iPad.

Biography

“A brilliant pianist” (The Times of London), Martin Leung is ushering in a new era of music. He makes our globe a more joyful place. His piano solos have emerged as historic in both live and recorded performances, and they have changed the way we think of music. He is known for Super Mario Medley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFZki6TcY4w On 19 October 2007, Super Mario Medley became the highest rated video on YouTube Japan. Video Game Pianist performed in 17 countries and at E3, PAX, GDC, German Games Convention, Brasil Game Show, among others.

As a classical pianist, Martin Leung holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Musi (BM ’08, pupil of Paul Schenly and Daniel Shapiro), the Yale School of Music (MM ’10, pupil of Claude Frank), and the University of Southern California (DMA ‘15, pupil of Stewart Gordon). Martin won prizes in international piano competitions. In November 2016 Martin won the Zoltán Rozsnyai Memorial Prize at the Los Angeles International Liszt Piano Competition, Division VII (Concerto). Last November Martin gave his European concerto debut, playing Liszt Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major at the Leipzig Gewandhaus with the Akademisches Orchester Leipzig and maestro Horst Förster.
