ABOUT THIS PIECE: In my opinion, this is Bach's most perfect fugue. It is no more difficult than most fugues in "The Well-Tempered Clavier," and thus all pianists should learn it. There is so much to be learned and enjoyed in this most perfect fugue. It requires some pedal use, so do not be afraid of using the pedal when playing Bach on the piano. Those who say "never use pedal in Bach" don't know what they are talking about and speak out of ignorance. The normal or correct tempo for this fugue is 54 bpm per half note, so at half speed like in this video I try to play quarter note = 54.
