"So This is Love" is a romantic ballad featured in Cinderella. The song is performed by the offscreen vocals of Cinderella (Ilene Woods) and Prince Charming (Mike Douglas) as they dance throughout the castle during the ball. During the song, the two gradually fall in love with each other, though Cinderella never realizes with whom she is actually dancing. The song comes to an end when the clock strikes twelve, forcing Cinderella to return home before the Fairy Godmother's magic dissipates. The next day, Cinderella learns that the man with whom she danced was, in fact, the Prince, and that whoever's foot fits the glass slipper she left behind at the ball will become his bride. In response, she absent-mindedly hums the song to herself as she heads up to her room to prepare herself for the Grand Duke's arrival with the glass slipper. Unfortunately, this causes Lady Tremaine to recognize her as the mystery girl who danced with the Prince, leading her to trap her in her room in one final ditch attempt to crush her hopes. In 1949, Woods recorded a solo version to promote the film for its impending release the following year.
