You might be wondering why I articulate or put a space or rest after the first beat of each bar. The reason is that sarabandes have an emphasized second beat and this is done most effectively by lightening up or shortening the first beat. Remember that the sarabande was a slow and majestic dance and this kind of articulation makes it more "dance-like" even though the tempo is still slow.
